About Your Therapist

Lindsay Kruse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She is licensed in the state of Florida and the state of Texas. Lindsay has practiced with clients in individual, couples, family, and group therapy settings and has worked with clients of all ages.  She believes that every one of us can benefit from having someone to talk to who is neutral and non-judgmental, and that we all have times when we need extra support in our lives.  She utilizes a variety of different approaches when working with clients including, but not limited to, solution-focused strategies, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness skills, just to name a few.  She believes no client fits in to a particular mold and each should be seen as a unique individual with their own particular strengths and struggles. Her warm and compassionate personality combined with her vast experience makes her very easy to engage with while feeling safe and supported.

Lindsay received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of South Florida in Tampa.  While obtaining her Master’s degree, she had the opportunity to complete her internship at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa.  There she was able to work with veterans and their families regarding medical issues, adjustment issues, severe mental illness, trauma, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Lindsay also worked in community mental health for several years and served clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  She has experience with the full range of mental health issues ranging from severe and persistent mental illness to mild and temporary adjustment issues.

Lindsay has worked in a wide variety of settings since moving beyond community mental health.  She has worked in private practice, has conducted in-home therapy with children, adolescents, and their families, and has provided therapy via telephone and videoconferencing.  Her current work has focused on helping individuals with new or chronic medical conditions and helping those individuals adapt to the life changes brought on by changes in physical and mental health.  She has been utilizing telephone and videoconferencing therapy with great success for many years.

As is the case for all Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Lindsay is required to maintain ongoing education credits to keep up with the latest developments in mental health, new therapy techniques and strategies, and current laws, rules, and ethics.
